Jelly Jels DJ, Breakdancer and Flammer Band musician talks to peep at the Star and Shadow Cinema Newcastle

Jelly Jels Bad Taste Crew is a Multi talented DJ musician and Breakdancer living in Newcastle upon Tyne. Jelly, reflects on touring Oslo, Norway with musicians – Leoparden and the Flammer Dance Band who are part of the Lyskestrekk Music Label, based in Oslo, Norway. It’s not easy to track down such a busy artist, but after much pursasion, he finally agreed to talk to peep magazine

Jelly has been constantly pushing his creative talent and toured many clubs, bars and night spots around Europe and further afield. During Covid, Jelly explains the timing was difficult , but is looking forward to touring the Uk once again. JJ also takes this opportunity to explain the other musicians including Leoparden. Leoparden is the norwegian front-man that wears the leopard skin clothes. He has a unique style that mixes souls, funk and disco styling within his music.

Jelly is also known for his incredible breakdancing style and skill. The BadTaste Crew are originally from Ireland, but now reside within the North East of England. TBTC have been supporting many young dancers within Newcastle and contunie to support and showcase their creative art form of contemporary dance and break-dancing.

He has returned to Newcastle to DJ at Byker Groove Disco Party at the Star and Shadow Cinema. Byker Groove Disco Party is a unique event within newcastle featuring the very best in disco music. The event is presented by fellow DJ’s including Giovanni Spatuzzi, Mr Sayers and Jelly. peep have been covering this event since its inception.
