Rap Time is the perfect Hip Hop Guerrilla Style event under Byker Bridge Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Rap Time is the perfect Hip Hop Guerrilla Style event under Byker Bridge, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Rap Time, the only Hip-Hop-event in Newcastle that mixes various styles including the north east growing ‘Grime’ music scene. This is an event you should take inspiration from. A generator, loads of free beers, a mixer and a few talented friends who can spit rhymes with many styles. The Hip Hop DIY music event is the invention of MC Rick-Fury and his long trusted Mc companion – Gilly-Man. Check the interview with Rick Fury and Gilly-Man-Giro. here.

Their Hip Hop event DIY marketing campaigns include, LP launches and merchandise. They have also supported many world famous hip hop music outfits and artists. This is something they have both been doing for over 15 years. If your not familiar with the Byker Bridge – it continues as road bridge that links the area of Byker to the city centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. The bridge dominates the sky over the River Ouseburn Valley in Newcastle upon Tyne. The event was a freestyle hip hop event that was happening under the Byker Bridge, itself. No lights and no stage, apart from a slab of concrete that seemed to be an afterthought from Newcastle city council.

The event was called ‘RAP TIME’. An all day live open mic event situated within the Ouseburn Farm area of Newcastle. The event involved musicians such as – ‘Scrannabis‘, H-Man, NATO NORTHEAST, MC ‘Horny’ Josh Horne and loads more up-and-coming-talented-Mc’s. The second event saw a wave of new hip hop musicians by the name of ‘Too Common‘ and MP3. We look forward to recording and documenting more events with Rap Time. RAP TIME Has No Door. It’s In A Field.

It should be mentioned that this is an open air event and everyone is welcome. There are no admission fees at the door, well, there is no door. The event is under Byker Bridge on a disused field. All are welcome.

DJ A.D.S. Adam, has been a member of the north east’s hip hop community for many years and consistently works with the hip hip fraternity here in the north east and around the country.

Please feel free to check out both Hip Hop Music events under Byker Bridge in Newcastle upon Tyne
